Is He Still a “Local Artist”?

Now that we are (finally) moving in, art is being hung. That print is one of my favorites. The picture was taken by a friend. When I saw it on Facebook, I jokingly asked, “can I get an eight-foot wide print?” Turns out, the answer was “yes”.

This is it in the Denver living room (the wall color isn’t really that close; note the white-balance difference in the print):

For a “before art” picture of the bedroom, see the Christmas Presents post.

Update a year later:

While the distance from the ceiling is drastically different (the Denver house had much higher ceilings), it’s at the same height from the floor – eye level – in both pictures.

It’s not a coincidence that the Denver crown moulding and the new cove moulding both have picture rails and look similar. We liked it in Denver so we had it done here. Jargon of the day: “Crown” moulding has a curve from the wall up to and over a bit of the ceiling. “Cove” moulding is just upside-down baseboard. It neither curves nor continues onto the ceiling. We got cove instead of crown because it’s offset down a bit from the ceiling to fit the LED strip lights tucked in behind it.
