I was aware, obviously, that the downstairs apartment had boob lights. They just didn’t seem all that bad – until I saw the photos. In the one above, I’m not sure what’s going on with the color balance. The rest of the room is perfect while the boob light is bright orange. The rest are no better. Since the pictures are already taken (and posted), there is no immediate rush to replace the fixtures. It’s just lingering on the todo list.
Saturday we were at Menards for other things, but we wandered through the lighting section to see what we could find. I found one I liked for the kitchen. It’s angular, the frame is black, and the built-in LEDs are 3000K. Perfect.

I can’t replace the boob light without repainting the kitchen ceiling, which means the rest of the kitchen since they’re the same color (at least now). This needs to be done, but I’m not doing it when the temperature outside is below freezing.
I’m also not doing anything significant down there until we’ve had at least one set of renters to give feedback to questions such as: If you could pick any color, what would you pick? I may ignore that feedback, but it may also be valuable. It’s also a cash flow issue. It’s time for that space to start generating money rather than hoovering it up.
There are four boob lights down there. I now have the replacement for one. At the rate I work, it will be next year before I find another three I like, anyway.
