Order of Magnitude of the Day

Technically, the next one down would be 0.7 degrees. But what happens with negative numbers? Is -7 an order of magnitude less than 7? I don’t think so.

Either way, thank you, G*d, for letting me live in the 21st century when I don’t care that it is 7 degrees outside.

  1. This just happened to be up when I opened the browser. Reading it, I realized that I should have added “in the USA” and “Drill, Baby! Drill!” I can afford to keep my house an order of magnitude warmer than the outside. Not everyone can. Cheaper energy means more energy – such as heat – for less fortunate (i.e. poorer) folks.

BTW: It hit double-digits today and we got a bit of global warming, but not enough to get out the coal fired snow blower.
