Chair Update

It’s been almost a year since I put it together. A couple of months ago, the left armrest pad came off. I didn’t much care because I don’t put my arm there. I looked at the issue long enough to realize that other things needed to come apart to get the pad reattached (it bolts in from underneath). The good thing: It bolts in. That means I just needed to rebolt it (no plastic bits to break off).

Today, the right armrest pad came off. That’s more troublesome because I use it all the time – that’s where my arm goes whilst using the mouse. So, I figured it out. The riser that the armrest pad bolts onto is also bolted on from underneath. So, to fix the pad, one must first remove the riser, then rebolt on the pad, then rebolt the riser.

One of the two bolts for the left armrest pad vanished in the months since it came off. This is why I save extra parts. I grabbed another bolt from the extras. I put LockTite on the “nuts” built into the pads, bolted them to risers, then bolted the risers back onto the chair arms. All fixed.
