There is a reason I don’t bake for myself. I wanted cookies on Saturday, so I made cookies. Now I am eating (verging on “have eaten”) them all.
We buy little semi-sweet off-brand M&Ms to add to the kibble (aka “trail mix”, but I don’t go near trails). The kibble was still unmixed, so I had that covered.
We also have three half-bags of various Ghirardelli chocolate chips purchased for ganache. All chocolate chip bags have a cookie recipe on the package, so I had that covered. (I saved the chips – dark, semi, and milk – for more ganache, later.)
I got a bit impatient with the butter coming up to room temperature, so I nuked it. I used cold eggs. 30 minutes later, cookies! Not gritty, so cold eggs are apparently OK.
I need to remember that 2 tsp of molasses in 1 cup of white sugar is equivalent to 1 cup of light brown sugar (3 tsp for dark). I’m almost out of brown sugar and it turns into a rock so I want to stop buying it.
The little dough scoop had something icky in it, so I used the big one (and ran them both through the dishwasher). I prefer the smaller cookies because there are more of them. This was 30 of them. There are two left (I just ate the one in the picture).
BTW: Not a Learning 2 Bake title because cookies don’t count, any longer. I know how to make cookies. I did use the category so I can find it, later.
