Told you. For whatever reason, I woke up an hour early. Some WhatFontIs searching during first-coffee…
Site info:
- The links are all to .font files, whatever they are.
- Many are clearly labeled $ Free (Personal Use).
- The $Commercial ones are labeled with the source. Adobe is out because they created the PDF format, for which they deserve to burn in hell not receive money from me. MyFonts is there. Creative Markets is there. Parachute Fonts is a new one. FontBros is a new one.
I’m starting with a “condensed serif” search. This post is to keep track of the names.
- Lightfoot Narrow Extra-condensed Regular. Would be great for a book about magic. It’s a bit swoopy.
- FHACondenensedFrenchNC. Maybe?
- Noto Serif Display Condensed Bold. Has potential.
At page 10, they started being sans.
The Headline category:
- JKR – INFAME HEADLINES otf (400). Has potential but lacks sharpness.
- ENBOK Regular otf (400). Is sort-of right. It’s wrong in a way that might stand out while still fitting in, if that makes sense.
At page 10, again. We live in an age of sans-serif. I need to refine the search. “Headline Spooky Serif” maybe?
- Spooky Mother Close, but still rounded.
- Fright Night. Refreshingly readable. I think I’m getting desperate.
At page 10, again. This is the union coupler problem, again: It’s hard to find what you’re looking for when you don’t know the jargon. How about what I’m actually looking for “LitRPG Book Title”.
Shock and surprise of the day (although it’s barely after 0600): Your search – LitRPG Book Title – did not match any fonts..
I’m sick of this and I’ve finished my coffee. Time for first breakfast.
