Armies tend to win, if you are not aware. This is a common LitRPG problem. There are two equally common solutions. First, is that is that groups don’t fight down-grade. If a bunch of F-grades (our werewolves’ grade) get in a fight, the faction doesn’t send in C-grades to squash them. One let’s the kids work out their own issues. Second, is that big armies battle off-screen. Generally speaking, these sorts of mass battles are considered training grounds. When a System rewards conflict, or more precisely, resolving conflict with death, there tends to be conflict.
My world needs to open up to the universe sooner rather than later. Or at least foreshadow the hell out of it. A few strong werewolves are not going to be sufficient. I know this, hence Pack Rising as the series title. The transition from warrior to general is going to be brutal to write (because I know so little about general-ing).
More immediately, how does one do werewolves in space? I’m thinking mech armor instead of ships. Or perhaps in addition to ships. It keeps the individual ethos alive while allowing for group action. Marines vs Navy. When all else fails, send in the Rangers werewolves.
How to get from here to there?
Need to make friends with amoral army guy. Perhaps a joint mission in book two? How do I tech-up current humanity into space capable humanity when everything has fallen apart? First step: Need magic to create something that rotates. Take up the slack of missing electricity to run motors. Magic-tech is the key.
