Impulsive Anger

I’ve finally figured out what irritates me so much about Cultivation books: The cultivators spend so much time, effort, and pain doing all sorts of complicated techniques to grow stronger, but as soon they feel insulted – legitimately or not – all that discipline flies out the window and they fly into an impulsive rage.

This doesn’t happen as much in LitRPG, although it’s certainly possible. Most people are sane enough to realize that there is always someone stronger, that pride has limits, and things are not always as they appear.

It’s a huge relief to finally figure out what’s been bothering me about that genre. I had to write it down.

I need some cautionary tales. I’m not sure what, yet, but I need to be sure the arrogance is beaten out of my werewolves without diminishing their power.
