Crepuscular Gloaming

This came up at work (indirectly via ‘petrichor’). What a great phrase!

Unfortunately, I don’t think it works in LitRPG. Epic Fantasy, hell yeah.

After saving the damsel, showing up the knights, and receiving accolades from all and sundry, the intrepid heroes rode off, soon fading from sight in the crepuscular gloaming.

Needs more adjectives.

The infamously undefeated dragon ejected a final, defiant jet of white-hot flame before it fell, vanquished. The cluster of gleaming knights, cowering in a nearby glade like the pampered fops they were, watched in shock as the bedraggled adventure flourished his sword in victory. The princess, still dressed for court, not this untamed wilderness, swooned, only to be caught in his sweaty arms; his battered sword falling beside him with a metallic cacophony.

Ugh. There’s a reason I’m not writing that. It’s going to be another paragraph before the accolades are over, let alone the sound of hoofbeats receding as they vanished into the crepuscular gloaming.

Back to work.
