I’ve been listening to some AI things (stories? podcast? audio short stories?) and I’ve noticed something very strange: They use the words “specific” and “particular” a lot.
They’re not used incorrectly, just so often. What makes that strange is that these AIs are trained on our data. We don’t use those words so frequently. Why does it?
He sat with the particular calm of a man with nothing to prove.
That’s not wrong, but it is strange.
The smoke rose around him; the scent sharp, acrid, and specific.
That’s arguably wrong, but it gets its point across.
I guess I don’t have anything else to say about that. It’s just a strange thing I noticed.
